The Preliminary Session

The purpose of the preliminary session is to discuss the areas that need to be addressed, provide some background information about yourself and to recommend and agree the number of counselling sessions you will need. This will typically be six sessions either weekly or fortnightly, followed by a review of your progress. The counsellor will also detail boundaries of confidentiality, what happens if either you or the counsellor are ill, any problems of privacy and any other issues that may be of concern to you.

If you decide that you want to start telephone counselling, then you arrange the times and method of payment directly with the counsellor. The first session is charged at a flat rate of £19.50.

If, after your first paid session, you or your counsellor decide that telephone counselling is not appropriate, we give you a full refund of your initial fee.
